Newsletter – September 2023

Welcome from the clergy team

Well this is exciting a new website and new newsletters to hopefully help make Christ church even more accessible to you all. To our friends old and new we hope this finds you well. We look forward to keeping in touch with you all more regularly and hope that this newsletter will be a source of information, prayer and connection between us all. This month we have some exciting things to look forward to, including our back-to-school bag blessing service, messy church and our harvest hotpot supper. As the summer comes to an end, we hope that you have had an enjoyable time and as we prepare for the changing of the seasons once more, we offer you this prayer for this month:

Lord of light and life, we have basked in the warmth of the summer, made memories and shared joy. We ask your blessing at this time of change for so many, for those starting new things and putting down the past. We give thanks for the gift of each new day and ask that you walk with us as we go. Amen

Love and blessings from Rev Alex and Rev Josie

Back-to-school Bag Blessing service

As some of you will know we work closely with our local schools to support our teachers and young people. This year as a deanery we have all committed to blessing our communities at this time of change, as children and staff alike have new beginnings. As such we will be holding a school bag blessing service in school during the first week of term. However, we would like to invite anyone to bring along a school bag, lunch box or maybe even a briefcase to church on Sunday the 10th September during our 11am worship and we will have a short blessing for all those with new beginnings this year.

We do hope you will join us in holding all those with new and exciting starts in prayer this September.
